WASHINGTON, DC--In response to the release of exit polling data from West Virginia this evening, VoteBoth.com founder Adam Parkhomenko issued the following statement:
“The strong polarization we’re seeing in swing states like West Virginia can be transformed into Democratic Party unity if Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton run together on a ‘dream ticket.’ We recognize that they are both focused on winning the primaries right now, but we are glad that both campaigns are leaving the door open to running together.”
CBS News reports that, among Clinton voters in the West Virginia primary, 36% say they would vote for Obama if he becomes the nominee; 35% plan to vote for McCain; and 24% say they will stay home. Of Obama’s West Virginia voters, 51% say they would vote for Clinton if she's the nominee; 31% plan to vote for McCain; and 14% say they'll stay home.
